Book Review
Once you get past the bold and sometimes questionable design of this book you are presented with what is undoubtedly a good read. There's 210 pages following the life of racing legend Elio de Angelis - from his birtlh in Rome to his death in '86 following an accident at the Paul Ricard circuit. A stunning collection of photos, press clippings and material, supplied by the de Angelis family, documents Elio's journey on and off the race track. The words do a similar job, but with the addition of
lengthy contributions from other famous names including Mansell and Clive Chapman - all keen to impart their memories of a great friend and colleague. There are lots of period quotes from de Angelis too, including his thoughts on most of the circuits at which he raced. Whether you were a fan of Elio or not, this is an engaging and emotive read which is worth seeking out for any motor sport enthusiast.
