Book Review
This initially seems expensive for a 264-page hardback with barely any colour but you can hardly blame the author for what is not generally available and the quality of the paper and printing underlines that this is no bargain- basement effort. Instead, Pritchard offers a well-constructed history of that most enigmatic of lunatic road races, the extensive bibliography illustrating how thorough his research has been (though oddly no mention of Wimpffen's masterwork Time & Two Seats). There are some marvellous photos – naturally Jenks and Moss grace the cover - accompanied by a mass of results data, reprints from letters and magazines and maps of the different circuits. As ever, Pritchard leaves no stone unturned and it shows in the resulting tome, which is as engaging as it is in-depth.
