Did the 2015 Metzeler Ulster Grand Prix signal a changing of the guard?

For years the results sheets have been dominated by the likes of Guy Martin, Bruce Anstey and Michael Dunlop, yet in 2015 a new set of names were added to the roll.

Although now based on the East coast of England Lee Johnston gave the home crowd plenty to cheer about as he set about a stunning treble of wins, including a double in the Supersport class.

Peter Hickman also broke through into the ranks of the winners of international road races with a formidable win in the Superbike race, holding off legends like Michael Dunlop and Conor Cummins.

Mullingar’s Derek McGee was another welcome addition to those who took the top step – this time for the Supertwin race.
