Jenks and The Bod DVD. The writings of DSJ and WB - as 'Jenks' and 'The Bod' were known to generations of Motor Sport magazine fans - became required reading for anyone and everyone interested in motor cars and motor racing. Both lived their lives in highly individual style. It was always too easy to dismiss them as merely British eccentrics. But this compilation of interviews and short films made over the last 30 years proves differently, offering a unique glimpse into the personalities and lives of these two unlikely legends. Denis Sargent Jenkinson, 1920-1996 DSJ or Jenks was Motor Sport's illustrious Continental Correspondent for more than 40 years. He was unusual among journalists for having been a red-blooded racer in his own right. He had passengered Eric Oliver to win the 1949 Motorcycle Sidecar World championship, and in 1955 he navigated Stirling Moss to their perpetual record-holding victory for Mercedes-Benz in the Mille Miglia. Jenks was an amazing mixture of objective enthusiast, fearless reporter and lifelong diarist. Born in 1920, he died just short of his 76th birthday. The Motor Sport world was Jenks's world for all but 10 years of his very active life with cars, motorcycles and aeroplanes. A product of the 20th century, DSJ enjoyed and wondered at it all his life. William Charles Boddy MBE, 1913-2011 WB or The Bod was Editor of Motor Sport magazine for 55 years, from 1936 to 1991, and his journalistic career spanned a remarkable 81 years. Bill wrote his first piece for Motor Sport in 1930 and his last just the week before he died. A lifelong champion of motoring and motor racing, WB built Motor Sport into an essential monthly bible in which his eager readership would be entranced, intrigued or enraged by his often quirky take on everything. Contents: An audience with WB (2005). Jenks at Brooklands (1987). DSJ and the Chain Gang (1987). The house that Jenks built (1996). Total Running Time 73 Minutes approximately.
