The Auto Giro d’Italia first held in 1973 and had a similar conpect as the Tour Auto in France: an event with a mixture of race tracks and special stages. The cars that took part in it were the best of their age: Lancia Stratos Turbo or Silhouette, Porsche 935 Turbo TT, Ligier JS2, Pantera de Tomaso and in the ‘80s the Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo IMSA and BMW M3.



This book about the very special event is mainly composed of pictures - many unpublished and fascinating - but it also contains a chapter on each event with start lists and results as well as portraits of many protagonists.
