The first of the Wankel engines were produced as outboard motors in the mid-fifties. In 1963 the engine was put into a small sports car and later came the Mazda Cosmo Twin-rotor GT. The NSU Ro80 was, therefore, the third car to have a Wankel engine. This book charts this car from its introduction in 1967 until production ceased in 1977. It contains road and comparison tests, performance and technical data, long term assessments and advice on buying second hand.
